Where to Get Your Book
Families are in partnership with the school in decision-making about what their students should read. The links to lists on this Website and the lists available in the school and public library provide suggestions. Reading selections may include but are not limited to those suggested in the lists. Students will have the opportunity to select books in the school library for summer check-out before the end of the school year in June. Further selections may be made at the local public libraries, especially the Sawyer Free Library and bookstores in Gloucester and near-by and also by online purchase. What Kind of Book?
• Fiction • Nonfiction • Biography (or Autobiography) • A book of poetry • A full-length play • A book of short stories All must be young adult literature or higher. The GHS and public librarians and your teachers can help identify the reading level of books. Some online sources, including Novelist (through Sawyer Free Library) and Amazon.com index books by reading level.
